South Coast Private Tour with Laugaras Lagoon
Iceland's South Coast is one of the country's most visually dramatic stretches of road, and this private full-day tour from Reykjavík gives you the freedom to explore it entirely on your own terms. Your dedicated guide and private vehicle are reserved for your group alone - no shared passengers, no fixed pace.
The tour heads east through a succession of striking landscapes. Seljalandsfoss is one of Iceland's most distinctive waterfalls, with a path leading all the way behind the falling water for a perspective that never loses its impact. Just minutes away, Gljúfrabúi hides inside a narrow canyon - reached by wading into a gorge - and rewards those who venture in with a view most South Coast visitors never see. Further east, Skógafoss commands its own scale: a broad, misted curtain of water with an optional climb to the top and sweeping views across the coastal plain.
A stop at Sólheimajökull Glacier places you at the edge of ancient ice before the tour continues to Reynisfjara, Iceland's most iconic black sand beach. Towering dark rock columns line the shore, and the Reynisdrangar sea stacks rise offshore from a powerful Atlantic surf. The village of Vík offers a chance to pause and refuel before the panoramic headland at Dyrhólaey closes out the coastal leg of the day.
The return journey includes a final stop at Laugaras Lagoon - a naturally heated pool set in the quiet inland landscape of South Iceland. After a full day spent in the open, it is a restorative and unhurried way to end before the drive back to Reykjavík.
Please note: the entrance fee for Laugaras Lagoon is not included in the initial price but can be added at the checkout page.
