One of the most unique features of Seljalandsfoss is that you can walk behind the waterfall (when it’s not frozen), feel the mist on your face and capture unforgettable photos.
Next, we’ll visit Skógafoss, a wider and equally magnificent waterfall. The waterfall is 25 meters (82 feet) wide and has a drop of 60 meters (197 feet). The thundering water creates rainbows in the mist, offering a magical spectacle. The waterfall is part of the Skógá River, which also comes from the Eyjafjallajökull glacier. The sheer power and beauty of these falls are a testament to Iceland’s raw natural splendour. According to legend, the first Viking settler in the area buried a treasure in a cave behind the waterfall.
