Highland Explorer — PRIVATE TOUR
The Experience
Beyond the roads and beyond the crowds, the highlands awaken in color, silence, and ancient force. This is the vast, rugged backbone of the island, a place where volcanoes and glaciers meet under endless skies. The Highland Explorer reveals the landscapes that few ever see, offering a sense of isolation and scale that can only be found in the deep interior of Iceland.
The Details
This expedition covers the sapphire crater lakes of Veiðivötn and the legendary 27-kilometer-long Laki volcanic fissure, a system of over 130 craters from a massive historical eruption. We navigate the long glacial lake of Langisjór and the edge of the Vatnajökull, Europe’s largest ice cap by volume. The tour includes two remote landings, allowing you to step out into landscapes shaped by time, from volcanic plateaus to high-altitude ridges.
